What is flamenco?

Flamenco is not only a dance, but also a form of cultural expression that was finally formed in Andalusia, Spain.

It includes three main elements:

Dance (Baile): Flamenco dance is characterized by vivid body movements, hand and finger patterns, during which the dancer, through his steps and sensations, responds to the intoxicating sound of the singer's voice and guitar. The dance is emotional and technical, requiring special control and rhythmic perception.

Music (Toque): Flamenco music includes a variety of instruments, the main one being the guitar. It is often accompanied by cajon and applause. The flamenco guitar is the inseparable heart of flamenco music, its sounds - a sensual, powerful and emotional form of storytelling. Exceptional for its technique and expressiveness - from fast, virtuoso finger movements to slower, melancholic melodies.

Singing (Cante): Flamenco singing is very expressive and emotional, usually performed with dark, sharp timbres that convey sadness, passion, joy or pain. The songs often tell about the struggles of everyday life, love or even social protest.

Flamenco is more than just a dance - it is a deep emotional and cultural experience, a unique art form that emerged from the fusion of different cultures and has become an important part of Andalusian culture.
