Flamenco is not only a dance, but also a form of cultural expression that was finally formed in Andalusia, Spain.

It includes three main elements:

Dance (Baile): Flamenco dance is characterized by vivid body movements, hand and finger patterns, during which the dancer, through his steps and sensations, responds to the intoxicating sound of the singer's voice and guitar. The dance is emotional and technical, requiring special control and rhythmic perception.

Music (Toque): Flamenco music includes a variety of instruments, the main one being the guitar. It is often accompanied by cajon and applause. The flamenco guitar is the inseparable heart of flamenco music, its sounds - a sensual, powerful and emotional form of storytelling. Exceptional for its technique and expressiveness - from fast, virtuoso finger movements to slower, melancholic melodies.

Singing (Cante): Flamenco singing is very expressive and emotional, usually performed with dark, sharp timbres that convey sadness, passion, joy or pain. The songs often tell about the struggles of everyday life, love or even social protest.

Flamenco is more than just a dance - it is a deep emotional and cultural experience, a unique art form that emerged from the fusion of different cultures and has become an important part of Andalusian culture.

Meet a teacher

Evelina is a flamenco dancer, choreographer, studio founder and teacher.

Her flamenco dance journey began more than 10 years ago, and since 2016 she has been living and dancing between Vilnius and Southern Spain. She studied at the flamenco school “Carmen de las cuevas” in Granada, “Estudio Juan Polvillo” in Seville, and also learned the subtleties of this art from Irene la Seranilla, Rafaela Carrasco, Agueda Saavedra, Javier Martos, La Moneta, Cristina Aguilera, Sandra Cisneros, Clarisa di Salvo, Gabriel Aragu, Natalija Meiriño and others. The teacher participates in flamenco and tablao performances in Lithuania and abroad.

Her teaching style is enchanting - each lesson is like a small performance. The teacher is demanding and very expressive, inspiring dance, encouraging you to pay more attention to posture and self-expression.

As a flamenco dancer, she is known for her elegant movements, which smoothly and skillfully transition from graceful and delicate dance to a deeply rooted, heart-pounding rhythm of the feet. Emotionally extremely compelling, she is able to convey a deep, vivid narrative through her dance.

Full of respect and admiration for this art, she speaks of flamenco as the greatest teacher in her daily life.

A traditional flamenco school that places great emphasis on the emotional expression of dance and its execution. Using complex hand and foot techniques as a tool that obliges one to step in step with the rhythm, flamenco becomes a profound way of conveying experiences, telling life stories of passion, pain, love and sorrow in song. However, like life itself, flamenco is alive – full of various shades, captivating with its playfulness and fun, full of pure joy and spontaneous energy.

In the lessons, we strive to get to know this diverse and multifaceted art. The teacher teaches how to express your personal story through movements and rhythm. Choreography is not just a sequence of repeated steps, but a living story that reflects the emotions and state of the dancer. Flamenco is like a dialogue - in order to communicate and be a synthesiser with the musicians, one must first listen and hear, let the sound breathe, and at the right moment respond with dance to the changes in the music and singing that one feels and interprets. The dancer learns to understand the structure of the dance so that he can speak the language of flamenco freely, controlling his steps, hand movements, posture and gestures meaningfully and precisely.
